Frozen Live at the Hyperion Opens at Disneys California Adventure

The all new “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion,” had its debut earlier today at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park. Thousands lined up for the chance to be one of the first to see the show in one of its three performances.

The show has been met with positive reviews from those who have seen the first performances with guest remarking at the technology and immersiveness of the performance. “While our production of ‘Frozen’ stays true to the heart and soul of the film, we have adapted it for the stage so it’s truly a musical theater production that befits our beautiful Hyperion Theater,” said Dana Harrel, creative entertainment executive with Walt Disney Imagineering.

The show is the theatrical interpretation of the Disney Animated Frozen and combines all of the favorite scenes and songs from the film. It features a number of first for a theatrical production including a 2,200 square foot video wall and Custom sound design envelops the audience in music and audio effects. . The show is under the direction of Tony Award® nominated Director Liesl Tommy.

“I am approaching ‘Frozen’ as I would any new work – to search the story for what resonates most emotionally, which is the story of the relationship between Anna and Elsa, their coming of age and conquering their worst fears,” explains Director Tommy.

The show will open with cast and crew of more than 200 and runs with three showings per performance day.
