"The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal Studios Hollywood opens April 7, 2016

You are out of luck if you wanted to be at Universal Studios Hollywood for the opening day of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter section. Tickets have been selling online at a record pace and now have completely sold out.

This is the first time that Universal Studios Hollywood has halted its online sales, although park officials have stated that there will be a few tickets available at the gates for $115 but would not say how many would be available. In addition to first day tickets being sold out, the premium VIP tickets and passes to skip lines are no longer available for Friday or Saturday.

“We have been getting ready for this exciting day for the past five years and share the exhilaration with those guests who’ve made April 7th a sell-out day,” said Larry Kurzweil, president of Universal Studios Hollywood.

The much-anticipated attraction includes a recreation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which will house the 3-D “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” attraction. There is also Universal Studios Hollywood’s first outdoor roller coaster, “Flight of the Hippogriff.”

From magical spells to magical creatures, from dark villains to daring heroes, it’s all here at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Explore the mysteries of Hogwarts castle, visit the shops of Hogsmeade, and sample fare from some of the wizarding world’s best-known establishments.
