Troye Sivan was my SweeTART <3

Troye Sivan kicked off Comic Con in grand style performing for hundreds of fans at the newly opened Horton Plaza Park in Downtown San Diego. The concert is the start of what’s going to be an incredible few days of Comic Con experiences throughout the city. Whether it’s television, movies or music there is something for fans of all ages.

Troye Sivan Serenades San Diego

The concert was an incredible way to start the four days of fun activities. The setting at Horton Plaza Park was the perfect venue as the new setup allows for an intimate venue outdoors to enjoy the sounds of your favorite musician. One of my favorite things about San Diego is being able to be outdoors while at your favorite concert and so to experience Troye Sivan in this way was amazing.

It was pretty hot when we arrived at Horton Plaza Park, as we waited to get into the venue. Once we were in and the concert got underway it was a sea of cell phones, everyone trying to ger that perfect picture or video for their social media accounts. I was no different as I posed for selfies and took video of the concert.

Troye Sivan Breakout Star of 2016

Troye Sivan, a breakout 2016 star, recently returned to The Tonight Show. This marks his first visit back to Jimmy Fallon‘s late night talk show since he gave Troye his national television debut awhile back. Sivan is currently on the “Blue Neighbourhood Tour” which will continue through the fall. Afterwards he’ll embark on the “Suburbia Tour” through the winter.

The openly gay pop singer became a YouTube sensation with over 4 million subscribers and 243 million views. His song “Youth,” from his debut album “Blue Neighbourhood,” went platinum in the U.S. this June. He also just recently earned his first chart topper on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks with his re-worked version of “Wild”featuring Alessia Cara.

Entertainment Weekly ConX

The concert helped launch Entertainment Weekly’s ConX activities. ConX will allow fans access to their favorite stars free of charge. The fan event will take place Thursday through Sunday at the Embarcedero Marine Park North just behind the convention center.

Visitors to Entertainment Weekly’s ConX will be able to enjoy picnic areas, food trucks, phone charging stations, as well as treating themselves to some SweeTARTS in the “Follow Your Tart” custom candy lab. Fans won’t want to miss out on the chance to see their favorite stars as Entertainment Weekly chats with them at the Entertainment Weekly Spotlight Stage.
