Feel the power of “Tidal Twister” at SeaWorld San Diego

SeaWorld Tidal Twister

It was a big day for SeaWorld San Diego as their all new roller coaster made its debut at the theme park. This on the heels of some fantastic news that the park saw a 20% increase in attendance over the past year. This is an exciting time at SeaWorld San Diego as the company has committed to increasing the attractions at the park. That means more rollercoasters and family entertainment along with an enhanced look at animal conservation.

The newest rollercoaster is a first-of-its-kind dueling coaster. Tidal Twister, a family coaster, is located next to the Aquaria touch pool and aquarium. The coaster, elevated 16 feet off the ground will accelerate 30 miles per hour, and include twists and banks along a tight figure-8 track that includes dynamic Zero- G roll at the center section. Two trains, holding 16 passengers each, load at opposite ends of the figure-8 and cross in the center with guests facing both forward and backward on the trains.

“There is no other coaster experience in the world like Tidal Twister,” said Marilyn Hannes SeaWorld San Diego’s park president. “The two trains duel one another so that guests will see the excitement on the faces of other riders. They’ll almost feel like they can reach out and touch each other. The tight turns, the inversion and the airtime hill will leave our guests wondering which way is up.”

The lower-height requirement of 48 inches makes this attraction a perfect ride for younger guests and families. The location of the coaster also will help to accentuate the new attraction’s conservation element that focuses on sustainable aquaculture and coral reef protection.

Early reaction from guest has been very positive and the hang time that you feel on this coaster is apparently pretty exciting.

SeaWorld is open year-round including holidays. Admission is $91.99, ages 10 and older; $86.99, ages 3–9; free, under 3. Annual Pass Memberships, the 2019 Fun Card and other ticket and Pass products make SeaWorld an even better value. For more information visitwww.SeaWorldSanDiego.com or call (619) 222-4SEA.
